Since Deane thought my last interview was worth sharing here, I suppose I should share this one as well. I recently completed this interview about Masking Hegemony with Chris Zeichmann over at The Religion Beat (the blog of the Religion in the Public Sphere initiative at the University of Toronto Centre for the Study of Religion).
We discuss, among other things, the idea of “secularism,” Bruce Lincoln’s “minimalism/maximalism” distinction, abortion and gay marriage, why one chapter of my book is so obviously normative, and what got me interested in Russell McCutcheon’s work.
