I confess that I have a bit of an odd hobby on the side – monitoring the reception and effect of biblical Giants in contemporary culture. It’s a bigger topic than you might at first imagine.
For all those with similar interests, I’m now publishing occasional notices about biblical Giants – Goliath, King Og, the Rephaim, the Nephilim, the Anakim, etc (yes, the usual suspects) – at this new, and admittedly fairly arcane, blog:
Remnant of Giants
The first item of biblio-gigantological interest is the rumor of an upcoming film adaptation of David and Goliath, to be directed by Scott Derrickson (The Exorcism of Emily Rose).
As a Christian, I always enjoy films with Biblical themes and characters. Although we share the same last name, I don’t know if we are related. I live in Michigan but my ancestors spent most of the last two centuries in Indiana and on the east coast prior to the War of 1812. I have a son who graduated from Calvin College and is currently serving as a USAF doctor in Afghanistan. Good luck with your new project.
